This course is based on the SOLO level of LSS and is aimed at all new users in all industries.
The course begins with basic terrain modelling concepts and covers the practical use of the software including: controlling the display; navigating; querying a survey; configuring the survey legend features; editing the survey; annotating; exporting to AutoCAD DXF; updating the prototype survey feature legend.

Requirements
This is a course for new users. Delegates do not need knowledge of LSS, but should be familiar with Microsoft Windows applications.
What will I learn?
- Session 1 – Digital Terrain Models and LSS structure and its building blocks; opening, navigating, interrogating a survey.
- Session 2 – Creating a new survey, inputting model data, controlling the display and configuring and changing the survey feature legend.
- Session 3 – Adding and inserting features, CAD-Pro part 1, amending, moving, removing observations and Undo commands, adding surfaces.
- Session 4 – Annotating a survey, updating the prototype survey legend, exporting to DXF and configuring the LSS settings.
This course is based on LSS SOLO, follows the LSS Introduction Course and is targeted at Land Surveyors.
The course covers: configuring LSS for survey instrument data-loggers; downloading; processing and quality checking survey data for topographical and elevation surveys; Feature coding and LSS Reserved Codes; survey reporting and editing, traverse adjustment; CAD-Pro for amending and adding extra observations; and transforming an adjusted (local grid) survey to a different (OSNG) grid coordinate system.

Requirements
This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course and have some knowledge of processing total station surveys.
What will I learn?
- Session 1 – Copying the LSS code list onto a datalogger; configuring LSS for survey dataloggers, downloading and processing total station survey data.
- Session 2 – LSS coding and the reserved codes; Creating a new survey for GPS transformed data; processing a building elevation survey.
- Session 3 – Survey Query and Report commands; Control commands for station observations; traverse adjustment and amending observations.
- Session 4 – Tidying crossing links – Terrain and Non-terrain Overlays, amending observations and CAD-Pro part 2; survey transformation.

The course looks at: converting data from third party software (XYZ and DXF) including introduction to CADxchange; checking, tidying and editing the survey model; basic design for circles, arcs, parallel and variable offsets and digitising; copying data between surveys and models; computing areas and volumes; generating sections and plotting plans and sections; 3D View overview.

This course is based on LSS VISTA and is targeted at Engineering Surveyors who have attended the LSS Intermediate Course and have some experience in using LSS.
It covers: configuring LSS for survey dataloggers with processing some engineering examples – resection and meaning hanging legs; converting csv file and LandXML with an alignment; converting 2-D DXF to 3-D data; finding the cut / fill balance level; computing volumes without and with surface depths; creating a formation model and exporting design data to dataloggers.

The course introduces LSS 3D Vision as a standalone program, including the importing of Point Cloud Data (from terrestrial scanners or UAVs);
Navigating through the Point Cloud and overdisplaying the LSS DTM; the Searchphere and filter box tools and the digitising of features into an LSS DTM;
Splitting the 3D Vision screen to show the slice option and using LSS SPF for sections and multi-link feature digitising; Terrain extraction for creating DTM;

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course, or have LSS experience and need to work from Point Cloud data.
What will I learn?
- Session 1 – Navigating in LSS 3D Vision and the layout and tool commands; importing point cloud data in e57 format.
- Session 2 – Making use of the filter box, searchphere and blend options; connecting LSS 3D Vision with LSS and digitising.
- Session 3 – Adjusting digitised and adding new observations with LSS CAD-Pro; using the slice and section commands.

This course is based on the VISTA level of LSS and is aimed at users who need to create DTMs for Exporting for Machine Control.
The course gives a review of the LSS building blocks, including Legend, Commands and Layout, before converting examples of third party data for creating, checking and basic editing of the DTM.
Surface features with construction depths are used to generate a formation model for exporting the elements for setting out and machine control.

This is a course for LSS VISTA users who have attended the LSS Introduction course who want to look at exporting for Machine Control in more detail.
The course reviews the LSS DTM concepts and covers the converting of third party data from various formats, before adding surfaces with depths, outputting within LSS to create a formation model, and finishing with exporting in the different formats of data for other systems.
